Prosthetic contact lenses improve the appearance of a disfigured eye from birth, trauma or an eye disease. There are different types available for sighted or blind eyes.

Patients who complain of glare and sensitivity with lights may find these contact lenses superior to spectacle mounted tints.

Sometimes Double vision may be difficult to control and correct for example after surgery or an accident. Prosthetic lenses are used to block the vision through the "bad eye" and improve the appearance.

The above patient has no iris in the right eye and complains of excess glare and sensitivity from lights. The top picture shows the eye before the application of a prosthetic contact lens and the picture below the appearance after.
