“Centre of Clinical Excellence”

This year fashion has a suggestion for all tastes! Large or small, round, square, sharp-edged like those worn by Audrey Hepburn in her films, this year sunglasses emphasize contrasts with the excesses and bizarre shapes to steal the show. The more unusual and eccentric are your glasses, the better!

Colourful frames with mirror lenses, wooden frames and many more styles are now available in our shop.

This is the ultimate accessory that boosts your style and protect the eyes from the sun's rays.

“There is no such thing as too many pairs of sunglasses”

UV light

Your eyes are exposed to UV 365 days a year. Protecting your eyes is important as UV radiation emitted from the Sun can cause complications to the eyes such as Pterygia (a redness at the nasal side on the white of the eye) as well as cataracts and has even been implicated in the cause of macular degeneration.

Forty percent of UV exposure occurs when we are not in full sunlight! You can protect your eyes from the harmful effects of the Sun with large wrap-around sunglasses and even certain types of soft contact lenses.

Most people think that sunglasses are only needed during midday or when it is bright. However, research shows that maximum UV exposure is during mid-morning and afternoon in Summer, Spring and Autumn. Whereas in Winter, UV exposure to the eye is highest during midday.

Our advice is to protect your eyes with wrap-around sunglasses whenever you are out and on bright days why not wear a nice hat!

Polarised Lenses

Polarised lenses contain a special filter that tends to remove the unwanted glare from reflected surfaces. Standard sunglasses can only make the view darker without eliminating glare.

When the light bounces off a surface like water or road usually its waves are stronger in a horizontal direction. This is called polarisation. Most polarised lenses are laminated with tiny vertical stripes that allow only vertical angled light to enter the wearer’s eyes. Glare is eliminated because the horizontal light waves cannot bypass the vertical filter.

Drivers can enjoy driving without any eyestrain and fishermen can see the fish underwater. Skiers, bikers, golfers can all enjoy a clearer cripser vision.
